The Dalles Weekly Reminder, February 13, 1987
Ernest Leonare Mathew Jordan, a resident of Rufus for 44 years, died Feb. 9 in 
The Dalles.  He was 87.

Mr. Jordan was born Sept. 21, 1899, in The Dalles.  He drove school buses from 
Miller to The Dalles for several years, later switching routes to drive from 
Miller to Rufus, which he did for over 30 years.  He was a member of the 
Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Arden, who he married Aug. 16, 1938, in 
Goldendale; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at the Rufus Grange Hall with the Rev. Ronald Maag 
officiating.  Interment followed at The Dalles Odd Fellows Cemetery.  
Memorials may be made to the Rufus Voluneer Ambulance Fund or charity of 
choice.  Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
