Wakley iwakley@msn.com December 31, 2006, 8:28 pm The Dalles Chronicle, October 2, 2006 Steven Quentin Johnson, 54, a resident of The Dalles, died Thursday, Sept. 28, at his home. He was born Feb. 25, 1952, in The Dalles, to James Quentin and Marion Marie (Galla) Johnson. He graduated from The Dalles High School in 1970, and was a lifetime resident. A fifth generation farmer on the family farm, he was a member of the Masonic Lodge and was a Shriner for a number of years. He was an avid history buff who loved to read about aviation and World War II. He enjoyed old movies, comedy routines, and music. He took great pleasure defeating his siblings in Trivial Pursuit and enjoyed late-night pinochle marathons with them. Steve adored, and was adored by his nine nieces and nephews. He is survived by his parents, James Q. and Marion M. (Marni) Johnson of The Dalles; sisters Nancy Dorn, Salem, Kim and her husband Merle Lindsey of Clackamas, Stacy and her husband Larry Martinez of Renton, Wash., Teresa and her husband Frank Bauman, The Dalles; and a brother, Jason and his wife Beth, West Linn; nieces and nephews Nick Martinez, Brett Lindsey, Carmen Martinez, Marcus Lindsey, Taylor Bauman, Jake Bauman, Bailee Johnson, Gabriella Bauman, and Jack Johnson. A viewing/visitation will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 3, at Spencer, Libby, and Powell Funeral Home from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m., and Wednesday, Oct. 4, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 4, at 1 p.m. at Spencer, Libby, and Powell Funeral Home, with interment following at IOOF 18th Street Cemetery. Pastor James Hazlett will officiate. Spencer, Libby, and Powell Funeral Home is in care of arrangements. Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Crippled Children, 3101 S.W.
