The Dalles Weekly Reminder, December 13, 1984
     Elmer H. Johnson, 75, died at a local nursing home Dec. 5.  He was a 
resident of Wasco for the past eight years and formerly a resident of Moro.

     He was born April 3, 1909 at Mt. Olive, Ill.

     Mr. Johnson was a member of The Dalles Eagles Lodge and the Lewis Lierndl 
American Legion Post in Goldendale, Wash.

     Survivors include his wife, Verna, Wasco; three daughters, Mrs. Douglas 
(Carol) Rhinehart, Wasco; Mrs. Lynn (Linda) Gilbreath, Harrisonville, Mo., and 
Mrs. Richard (Janet) Fry, Springfield, Mo.; five grandchildren; a brother, 
Russell Johnson and a sister, Mrs. Louis (Ruth) Stafford, both of Staunton, 
Ill.

     Funeral services were Saturday at Wasco United Methodist Church with the 
Rev. Ernie Smith officiating.  Private burial followed at Wasco Sunrise 
Cemetery.  Smith Callaway Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
