The Dalles Weekly Reminder, August 7, 1987
Russell L. Johnson, 71, died July 29 at the local hospital.  He had lived in 
Wasco for 23 years.

Mr. Johnson was born Feb. 2, 1916 in Nebraska.  He worked for Jarl 
Construction and was a welder for the Wasco County Road Department until his 
retirement.

He is survived by his wife, Valetha Johnson of Wasco; aisters, Edith Johnson 
of Houston, Tex., and Irene Seigel of Sandy; a stepson, Darrel Carman of Wasco.

Graveside services were held and the Wasco Sunrise Cemetery officiated by Rev. 
June Fothergill.  Smith Callaway Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
