The Dalles Weekly Reminder, December 8, 1995
     Frank Buford Johnson died Dec. 2, 1995 at his home in The Dalles.  He was 
77.
     He was born April 12, 1918, in San Antonio, Texas, the youngest of five 
children born to Henry and Laura (Cutver) Adams.  He grew up and graduated 
from high school in San Antonio.
     He served as a sergeant in the US Army in Germany and Holland and was a 
Purple Heart medal recipient.
     He married Agnella B. Hinkamp on July 1, 1943 in Amarillo, Texas.  They 
lived in Norwalk, Calif., from 1947 to 1980, when they retired to The Dalles 
to be near his son, daughter-in-law and granddaughters.
     Mr. Johnson worked as an institutional/hospital chef.  He was a member of 
the Catholic Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars.  He loved dogs, music and 
dancing.
     He's survived by his son, James and his wife, Jean Johnson; two 
granddaughters, Jamie Michelle and Jennifer Kristine Johnson, all of Vallejo, 
Calif.; his brother, Johnny Adams of San Antonio; his sister, Minnie Spear of 
Colorado; two sisters-in-law, Marie Close of The Dalles, and Bernita Merritt 
of Lorena, Texas.
     He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnella, in 1984.
     Viewing visitation was held Dec. 5, and Dec. 6 with funeral services on 
Dec. 6 at Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home, followed by private cremation.
     Memorials:  Wasco County Humane Society, in care of Spencer, Libby & 
Powell Funeral Home, 1100 Kelly Ave., The Dalles, OR 97058.
