The Dalles Weekly Reminder, January 16, 1987
Bessie M. Jobe, 75, died Jan. 6 in The Dalles.  She was a resident of 
Arlington for four years.

Mrs. Jobe was born in Esterville, Iowa, on Jan. 7, 1911.

She is survived by two sons, Donald Sorenson of Des Moines, Iowa, and Jerry 
Thomas of Springfield, Ore.; a daughter, Evelyn Wylie of Arlington; five 
stepchildren, Robert Jobe Jr., Mary Miller, Evelyn Williams, Rosemarie 
Williams and Romonia White; brothers, Francis Lowell of Weir, Minn.; four 
sisters, Hazel Stillmack, Irene Schlee and Edna Sarri, all of Minnesota, and 
Nora McLean of Longview, Wash.; three grandchildren; several ste-
grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services were held in Lyons, Ore. at the Canyon Baptist Church.  
Private graveside services were held at Willamette National Cemetery in 
Portland.  Smith Callaway Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
