They both lived at Sun Terrace Assisted Living in Prosser, Wash. She was born July 17, 1937 in Pierre, S.D., and grew up in Harold, S.D., until moving to Athena when she was nine. Her parents were Glenn and Claribel (Bronemann) Harris. She had two brothers, Donald and Harold, and three sisters, Mae, Glenda and Linda. Her brother Harold and her parents preceded her in death. He was born on July 24, 1938 in Silverton, to Marguerite (Bradfield) Lanham and Luther Jeffries. He had one brother, David and two sisters, Joyce and Ruth. His brother David and his parents preceded him in death. They met at Northwest Christian College in Eugene, where he was studying ministry. The couple married on Sept. 6, 1958. They made their home in Eugene and Silverton. They moved many times over the years for his career. He received his Ed.D. from New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, N.M., and then went to Washington State to further his career as superintendent of several different public schools. In addition to raising her children, she worked in several different occupations outside the home. At the end of his school career, they retired and moved to The Dalles. In 2001, he was ordained in ministry and became pastor of the Mosier Christian Church. The couple served the church for 5½ years and had recently moved to Prosser to spend their remaining time together. They are survived by their five children and their spouses, Diana Faith and Jake Davenport, Marsha and Alan Childers, Anita and Jay Jonas, Annette and John Rustemeyer and Rodney and Bridgette Jeffries; 12 grandchildren, BJ, Chad and Sean Davenport, Amber and Hayley Childers, Kyle, Evan and Kimberly Jonas, Maria and Peter Rustemeyer and Jennifer and Heather Jeffries. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m on Saturday, May 14, 2005, at the Mosier Christian Church, with a luncheon following at the Mosier Grange. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s favorite church or charity. Arrangements are being handled by Prosser Funeral Home.
