The Dalles Weekly Reminder, March 8, 1984
     Robert Norman Jarl, 40, of Troutdale, died March 1 in an airplace crash 
in the Columbia River east of Stevenson, Wash.

     Mr. Jarl was born on May 20, 1943 in Portland.

     He lived for a number of years in Gresham, attending elementary and high 
school there.

     In 1967 he married Jean Eiesland at Ridgefield, Wash.  They later 
divorced.  In 1983 he married Deborah Battista at Vancouver, Wash.

     For the past 12 years he has lived and worked in The Dalles.  He was a 
supervisor with Ameada Mining and Construction Company in The Dalles and was a 
member of the Heavy Construction Union No. 701 and was a member of the Sports 
Car Club of America.
 
     Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Carroll Funeral Home in 
Gresham.  Vault entombment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Gresham.

     Memorials are suggested to the Skamania County Search and Rescue, 
Skamania County Sheriff's Office, Stevenson, Wash.
