She was born in Weiser, Idaho, on Dec. 19, 1918, the daughter of Harry and Alegra Reitz Benson. She graduated from Arlington High School in 1936. She married Gustav “Gus” Adolphe Jacroux on April 9, 1939 in Prosser, Wash. They moved to Goldendale in 1939 and in 1946 to The Dalles. She worked for Don Williams in the hardware and toy departments. For 15 years she was the manager of the Phillips Store until her retirement in 1988. She was a Cub Scout mother, volunteered for work with the March of Dimes and United Way and was secretary of the Babe Ruth baseball league. She loved her family and traveling the northwest in their RV and also enjoyed gardening and won several beautification awards for her work outside. She and her husband moved to Dallas in 2002 to be near their son, Ken. Survivors include her husband, Gus, Dallas; sons, Kenneth, Dallas, and Michael, Pullman, Wash.; her brother, George Benson, Hermiston; and four grandchildren. Private family services will be held. Memorials may be made to the Dallas Retirement Village, 310 W. Ellendale Ave., Dallas, OR 97338. The Bollman Funeral Home is in care of arrangements.
