     Maurine Vale Jackson-Puddy, 75, died at a Hood River care facility on 
Monday, Feb. 28, 2005.
     She was born July 2, 1929 in Pingree, Idaho, the second of five children 
to Charles B. and Merle Vivian (Peterson) Jackson. 
     She worked and lived in Long Beach, Calif. until 1962, then moved to Hood 
River, where she met and married Mark Puddy.
     She was active in gardening, fishing and horses.
     She is survived by her children, Sharon Johnston, Warrenton, Bobbi Roman, 
Redding, Calif., Becki Fischer, Mosier, Mark Puddy Jr, Missoula, Mont.; 
siblings Joyce Edwards, Ione, Wash., Gary Jackson, Paulette Murray, Milpitas, 
Calif. and David Pierce, Weed, Calif.; numerous grandchildren and great-
grandchildren. 
     She was preceded in death by her husband, Mark, and son, Dennis Johnston.
     Private memorial services will be held at what the couple called “Puddy 
Point” at a later date. 
     Cremation was held at The Dalles Win-quatt Crematory with Smith Callaway 
Chapel in care of arrangements.
