The Dalles Chronicle, June  11, 2006
     Mary L. Huskey, 90, a resident of The Dalles and a former resident of 
Madras, died at the local hospital on June 4, 2006.
     She was born Dec. 19, 1915 in Boise to David and Ereva (Ellsworth) 
Matthews.
     She married Amis Huskey on Dec. 25, 1951 in Reno, Nev.
     They lived all over Central Oregon and most recently lived in The Dalles 
to be near their children. She was employed as a nurse at Mt. View Care Center 
in the mid-1970s and then went on to private nursing care.
     She enjoyed crafts, antiques and cooking and loved her dog, Teddy Bear.
Survivors include her husband, Amis, The Dalles; children, Anita Verberg, The 
Dalles; Jerry Huskey, Rufus; Patricia Birtcher, Ohio; and Joshua Bailey, 
Madras; her dog, Teddy Bear; 10 grandchildren, numerous great and great-great 
grandchildren. Four brothers and a sister preceded her in death.
     A private family committal will be held at Mt. Jefferson Memorial Park in 
Madras.
     Arrangements are in the care of Bel Air Colonial Funeral Home of Madras.
