JoAnn Humpherys

     JoAnn Humpherys, 70, a resident of Winchester Bay, died on Aug. 10, 2003
at a hospital in Eugene from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in
Winchester Bay on Aug. 9.

     She was born Dec. 15, 1932, in Glenns Ferry, Idaho, to Earnest and Vera
(Mead) Stillwell.

     She married LaVon Terril Humpherys in Winnamucca, Nev. on July 8, 1950.

     She was a prep cook for Pizza Ray's in Winchester Bay, and enjoyed
reading, embroidery and knitting, when she wasn't trying to master the
computer. She was a member of the Reedsport Christian Church.

     She is survived by her sons, Terry and his wife Vickie, Dorena, Ore. and
Deland and his wife, Dottie, Hershey, Neb.; daughters Lavilla and husband
David Clarish, Yakima; Marlene Byrd, Lingle, Wy. and Wanda and husband Thomas
Gilman, Eugene; brothers Ernie Stillwell, The Dalles and David Stillwell,
Portland; sister Dorothy Sargent of Lakeside; sister-in-law Nelda Flock of
Hammet, Idaho; 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on May 16, 2003,
and a grandson, Deland Jay, in 1991.

     A memorial service will be held at Pizza Ray's in Winchester Bay at 2
p.m., Thursday, Aug. 14, 2003.

     Contributions may be made to Reedsport Christian Church, 2795 Frontage
Rd., Reedsport, OR, 97467.

     Dunes Memorial Chapel in Reedsport is in charge of arrangements. .
