The Dalles Chronicle, November 24, 1971
     Eve Marie Horan, a resident of The Dalles for the past three years, died 
at a local hospital Tuesday at the age of 87.
     Miss Horan was born on Oct. 6, 1884, in Pittston, Pa.  She taught school 
in public and parochial schools in Portland for 62 years before retiring three 
years ago.
     She was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church and the Retired Teachers 
Association.
     Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Pat Foley, Portland, and Mrs. George 
Schindhelm, Los Angeles; six nephews, Tom and Jerome Foley, both of The 
Dalles; Pat Foley, Phoenix, Ariz.; Richard Burke, Portland; and Robert and 
Edward Nealson, New York City; five nieces, Mrs. Farwell Booth, The Dalles; 
Mrs. James Kelly, Portland; Mrs. Richard Litfin, Menlo Park, Calif.; and Mrs. 
John Pratt and Mrs. Angela Nelson, New York City.
     Recitation of Rosary will be at Spencer-Libby Funeral Home Wednesday 
night at 7:30.  Requiem Mass will be at St. Peter's Catholic Church Friday at 
10 a.m.  Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Portland at 3 p.m. 
Friday.
     Casket bearers are Tom, Jerome, Bill and Tim Foley; Bill and Farwell 
Booth.
