    Nancy Mae Hopkins, 68, a resident of Madras, died at a Madras care 
facility on Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2003.
     She was born Dec. 10, 1934 in Portland, the older of two children to John 
Paul and Pauline Marie (Pardee) Rost and grew up in Portland.
     She traveled throughout the United States for several years on her 
motorcycle, returning to Portland in the late 1960s and moving to The Dalles 
in the early 1970s. She was an active volunteer with her children's activities 
and later for the State Senior and Disabled Services Department.
     She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and enjoyed her family, 
motorcycles and crocheting.
     She is survived by her children, Shon Hopkins; Jody and his wife, Michele 
Hopkins, both of Madras, and Jackie and her husband, Mike Dobbins, The Dalles; 
eight grandchildren, Katie, Brandy, Treyton, Brittany, Cody, Cheyenne, Dakota 
and Nichole; her sister, Phyllis and her husband, Dennis DeBore, Portland, and 
several nieces and nephews.
     Viewing visitation will be held at Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home 
on Friday, Dec. 5, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and from 9:30 a.m. through services 
on Saturday.
     Funeral services will be held at Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home 
at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6, with Pastor Dorthy Nielsen officiating. Private 
cremation will follow at The Dalles Win-quatt Crematory.
     Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Gorge, 751 Myrtle St., The 
Dalles, OR 97058.
