She was born June 27, 1919, in Condon, the second of five children to William Thomas and Frankie Elizabeth (Farra) Adlard and grew up in Lost Valley area of Gilliam County. She married Arnold Irvin Hoffman on Oct. 8, 1936, in Condon. They lived in Butte Creek near Fossil for seven years, then lived in Boardman until 1980 when they moved to The Dalles. She was a homemaker and artist, a member of the First Christian Church, The Dalles Art Center and a volunteer at Mid Columbia Medical Center’s gift shop. She enjoyed homemaking, her family, especially her grandchildren, oil painting, reading, plants and in later years growing orchids. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Arnold Hoffman, The Dalles; her children and their spouses, Edna Hoffman Keller and Jerry, Wood Village; James and Sharon Hoffman, Castro Valley, Calif.; Ted and Donna Hoffman, The Dalles; and Linda Hoffman, Dufur; eight grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren and her step-sister, Nina Knighten, Condon. She was preceded in death by two sisters, two brothers and a half sister. Funeral services will be held at The Dalles First Christian Church, 909 Court Street, The Dalles at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 14, with Pastor Lynn Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at the Threemile Road Odd Fellows Cemetery, formerly know as Parklawn. Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home is in care of arrangements.
