The Dalles Weekly Reminder, May 13, 1988
     Ruth Katrine Hillyer, 81, died May 6, 1988, in The Dalles.
     Born June 1, 1906, Mrs. Hillyer was a resident of The Dalles since 1948 
and belonged to the Elks Emblem Club and Telephone Pioneer Club.
     Survivors are a son, Maurice D. Hillyer, Beaverton; five sisters, Lyla 
Cronin, Chula Vista, Calif.; Laura Perry, Topeka, Kansas; Erma Walker, 
Arkansas; Ethel Williams, Fort Scott, Kansas, and Christine Mills, Frankfort, 
Kansas; three grandsons, and several nieces and nephews.  Her husband, David 
B. Hillyer, preceded her in death in 1975.
     Funeral services were at Smith Callaway Chapel with private vault 
interment at Parklawn Memorial Garden.  Pastor Ron Coleman officiated.  
Donations are suggested to the Emblem Club c/o BPOE 303.
