The Dalles Weekly Reminder, May 29, 1987
Daniel B. Hewett, 87, died May 21 at a local nursing home.  He had lived in 
The Dalles for 69 years.

Mr. Hewett was born April 30, 1900, in Bangor, Maine.  He moved to The Dalles 
when he was 18.  He served in the Merchant Marines for a few years.  He was a 
member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Mr. Hewett was preceded in death by a brother, Hap Hewett, on May 20, 1987.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa J. Hewett of The Dalles; two step sons, 
Wallace Larson of Tacoma and Joseph Shea of Bellingham, Wash; a step-daughter, 
Mary Joyce Asker of The Dalles; two sisters, Leola Hurt of Salem and Jackie 
Edwards of Salem.

Services were held at Smith Callaway Chapel, followed by committal at Odd 
Fellows Cemetery.  Pastor John Yuros officiated.  Pallbearers were Charles 
Paull, Bob Smith, Russel Foster, Dave Cox, Hugh Holte and Elden Ellett.
