The Dalles Weekly Reminder, Sepetember 15, 1995
     Alta Henderson, The Dalles, died Sept. 7, 1995 at a local care facility.  
She was 80.
     She was born March 27, 1915 in Grove Springs, Mo., to Samuel and Dora 
Pearson.  She grew up and was educated in Bliss and Nampa, Idaho.  She married 
Elroy David Henderson on Feb. 19, 1934, then moved from the Nampa area with 
him to Rufus in 1962.  Mr. Henderson died Nov. 10, 1976 and she moved to The 
Dalles in 1987.  She liked to care for her family and others.  She enjoyed 
crocheting, birds, flowers, wildlife and reading.
     She is survived by her four children and their spouses:  Shirley and 
Galen Smith of Rufus, David and Linda Henderson of Aberdeen, Wash., Jean and 
Bobby Kamm of Meadview, Ariz., and Kenneth and Toni Henderson of Clarkston, 
Wash.; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and her two brothers:  
Andrew Pearson and Paul Pearson.
     Graveside services were held at the IOOF Cemetery on Cherry Heights on 
Monday, Sept. 11, the Rev. Jerry Larson officiating.
     Smith Callaway Chapel was in care of arrangements.
