Wakley iwakley@msn.com December 6, 2006, 7:16 pm The Dalles Weekly Reminder, March 1, 1984 Arnold R. Heimerl, 73, of Mosier, died Saturday at his home. He was born May 1, 1910 in Greenleaf, Wis. Mr. Heimerl was a private in World War II in the U. S. Army and moved to Portland in 1952. In 1958, he moved to the Hood River Valley. He and his wife, Rena, were married May 12, 1960, in Portland. They moved to Mosier in 1963. He belonged to the American Legion Post 55, Mosier, and the Disabled American Veterans. Survivors include his wife, Rena, Mosier; a son, David, Wausau, Wis.; a daughter, Delores Eisch, Prairie City, Mich.; a stepson, James Van Riper, Vancouver, Wash.; a stepdaughter, Georgia Koff, Gilchrist; 19 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Contributions have been suggested to the American Legion Post at Mosier. Graveside services were today (Thursday) at the Willamette National Cemetery, Portland, with Chaplain Petroff officiating. Anderson Funeral Home in Hood River is in charge of arrangements.
