The Dalles Weekly Reminder,  June 26, 1987
     Jennie Etta Hearing, 99, died at a local nursing home June 15.  She was a 
resident of The Dalles for the past 10 years, moving here from Wasco.
     Mrs. Hearing was born Oct. 14, 1887, in Portland and moved to Wasco with 
her parents when she was age one.
     She is survived by four daughters, Edra Kirkelie and Laurella Thomas of 
Portland, Jeanett Stuart of The Dalles, and Dessie Hanks of California; eight 
grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and 
several great-great-grandchildren.  Her husband, Clyde Hearing preceded her in 
death in 1943.
    Graveside funeral services were held at The Dalles Odd Fellow Cemetery.  
Spencer, Libby and Powell was in charge of arrangements.
