The Dalles Weekly Reminder, February 5, 1988
     Rudy A. Hazuka, 80, died Jan. 29 in a local nursing home.  He was a 
former resident of Torrance, Calif.
     Mr. Hazuka was born May 9, 1907.  He was an avid airplane pilot dating 
back to the 1920s and continued to fly until the 1960s.  He was a member of 
many airplane pilots' associations.
     He is survived by a niece Caroline Homer of The Dalles; two nephews, Jim 
O'Brien of Tucson and Tom O'Brien of Las Vegas; a brother-in-law, Tom O'Brien.
     Services were held at Smith Callaway Chapel followed by interment at 
Mosier Cemetery and officiated by Rev. Karl Vercouteren.
