The Dalles Chronicle, November 30, 2004
     Gregory Lee Haynes, 40, a resident of The Dalles, died at a local care 
facility on Sunday, Nov. 28, 2004. 
     He was born Aug. 24, 1964 in The Dalles, the younger of two children to 
Gary Lee and Linda Lucille (Hire) Haynes. 
     He attended schools in The Dalles, graduating from The Dalles High School 
in 1982. He attended college at Oregon State University from 1982 through 
1986, graduating with a major in financial management and a minor in 
industrial engineering.
     He loved the beach, the mountains and was very appreciative of the beauty 
in the local area. He had a great love for animals, dogs in particular. He was 
family oriented.
     He is survived by his father, Gary Haynes, The Dalles; aunts and uncles, 
Myrna and Bob Mead and May Haynes, all of The Dalles; Richard Hire, Portland; 
Richard Haynes, Brookings; many cousins and numerous friends. 
He was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Haynes in March 2002 and his 
brother, Jeffrey Haynes in January 1976.
     Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 4, at the 
United Church of Christ Congregational, 111 East 5th St. with Rev. Karl 
Vercouteren officiating. 
     Private family cremation will be held at Win-Quatt Crematory with 
Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
