The Dalles Weekly Reminder, August 23, 1984
Clarence Alden Hayes, a resident of The Dalles for 16 years, died Aug. 18 in 
the hospital here.

He was a retired carpenter.

Mr. Hayes was born Feb. 25, 1896 in Coopertown,, Wis.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy, The Dalles; a daughter and son-in-law, 
Mr. and Mrs. James Guth, The Dalles; a brother Willard Hayes, Green Bay, Wis.; 
two sisters:  Rose Mertens and Clara Wauters, Green Bay; a granddaughter, 
Cynthia Guth, The Dalles.

He was a deacon in the Seventh-day Adventist Church.  Funeral services were at 
2 p.m. Aug. 23 in Smith Callaway Chapel with Pastor Charles Liu officiating.  
Private committal will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery.
