Wakley iwakley@msn.com June 2, 2006, 1:46 am The Dalles Chronicle, April 23, 2006 Donald Earl Hauge, 68, a resident of The Dalles, died at the local hospital on Tuesday, April 18, 2006. He was born in Forest City, Iowa on November 22, 1937, the only child to Harold and Ruth (Johnson) Hauge. He grew up and graduated from high school in Swanville, Minn. He joined and served in the U.S. Navy and came back to San Diego, Calif. and worked on power lines working his way to the Northwest and to northern Washington. Then moving to Goldendale, he worked at the aluminum plant. In 1976 he moved to The Dalles where he married Diane C. Humphrey in Stevenson in 1980 and worked until he retired in 1999. He enjoyed yard work, camping, motorcycle tours, road rallies, four wheeling and going to sand dunes. He was a lifetime member of American Motorcycle Association. He is survived by his wife Diane Hauge of The Dalles; his son, Jason Hauge and his girlfriend Natalie Frakes of The Dalles; his very close friend, Scott Mengis of The Dalles and many other friends and family. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Donald. A celebration of life will be held on April 29, 2006, at 1:00 p.m. at Pinewood Mobile Manor, upper field, with Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
