The Dalles Weekly Reminder, December 1, 1983
     Paul John Haslinger, 65, a resident of Portland and a former resident of 
The Dalles, died Friday at his home.
     Mr. Haslinger was born Nov. 28, 1917 in Hood River, and grew up and 
attended school in Hood River and The Dalles.
     He graduated from San Francisco College of Mortuary Science and was 
employed as a mortician in Portland for more than 15 years.
     For five years he was a deputy coroner for the Multnomah County Medical 
Examiner's Office.  In 1960 he became owner of World Travel, Inc., a travel 
agency in Portland.
     Mr. Haslinger was a member of the Hood River Elks Lodge, was a WW II 
veteran and was a member of the SKAL Club.
     Survivors include his wife, Betty; four daughters, Randy Lynn Kokos, 
Patricia Sorenson and Kristi DeSylvia of Portland, and Barbara Haslinger of 
Bend; a son, Scott Haslinger of Portland; brothers, Dr. Joseph Haslinger of 
Portland and George Haslinger of The Dalles; a sister, Mrs. Frances Hoesly of 
Vancouver, Wash., and four grandchildren.
     A rosary was Monday at the Chapel of Hennessey, Goetsch and McGee with 
Miller and Tracey Mortuary.  Funeral Mass was Tuesday followed by vault 
entombment at Willamette National Cemetery.
     Memorials are suggested to Make a Wish Foundation, P. O. Box 4443, 
Portland.  Make a Wish Foundation is an organization that fulfils wishes of 
terminally ill children.
