Surnames: Harrison, Robison, Rogers, Russell, Wake, Carter, Moore, Davis Ethel Elizabeth Harrison, 93, a resident of The Dalles, died at her home on Monday, February 3, 2003. She was born August 17, 1909, in Lost Valley (Oregon), the second of six children to Benjamin and Mary Ellen (Robison) Rogers. As she was growing up, her family lived in Holley (Oregon) from 1911 to 1914, and then returned to Lost Valley. She married William Lester Harrison on April 1, 1928, in Trail Fork (Oregon) and they lived and ranched in Gilliam and Wheeler Counties before moving to The Dalles in 1969. She was a homemaker, a member of the Congregational Church of Condon (Oregon) the Eagles Lodge and Phythian Sisters. She enjoyed bowling, bingo, cards, quilt making, the outdoors, gardening and sharing the produce of her garden with others. She was the guest of honor at the Eastern Oregon Pioneer Association Picnic on July 22, 2000, which honored the Harrison family's pioneer heritage in Eastern Oregon. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Evelyn and Jack Russell, The Dalles; Verla and Garth Wake, Kent, Washington; Doris Carter, The Dalles and Raymond and Claudette Harrison, Lone Rock (Oregon); 14 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, her siblings, Clarence Rogers, Rachel Moore and Lola Davis, all of Hermiston (Oregon) and Lloyd Rogers and wife, Donna, Condon. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Lester, in 1977, her brother Robert and two great grandchildren. Viewing visitation will be held at Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home on Friday, February 7, from 2 to 7 p.m. and 8 to 10 a.m. on Saturday. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 8, at Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home with Asa Jenson officiating. Graveside committal services will follow at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, at the Condon Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to Lone Rock Community Hall, c/o Raymond Harrison, Lone Rock Rt., Condon, Oregon 97823 or charity of choice.
