     Mary Ann Hannen, 71, a resident of The Dalles, died Sunday, Dec. 7, 2003 
at her home.
     She was born Oct. 15, 1932 in Portland, the youngest of three children to 
Phillip and Lyda (Ellison) LeVeille and grew up in Corvallis. She attended 
Oregon State College for two years before getting married, and lived in 
Germany for two years while her husband was in the military. She returned to 
Oregon and settled in Bend with her family. She moved to The Dalles in 1983 
and worked for the Department of Motor Vehicles in Hood River for several 
years.
     She was a member of Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church, and had been active in 
the Fraternal Order of Eagles in addition to her membership in the Corvallis 
Elks.
     She enjoyed her family, cooking and working in her garden.
     Survivors include her children, Michael Hannen, Central Point; Steven 
Hannen, The Dalles; and Cheryl Chytka, Corvallis; and her grandchildren, 
Jennifer, Ryan and Dustin Hannen, Kellen and Cory Chytka and great-grandsons 
Mason and Logan.
     In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her two brothers 
Phillip and William.
     A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20 at Old St. 
Paul’s Episcopal Church at Fifth and Union streets, the Reverend John 
Langfeldt presiding. A celebration of life gathering will follow at 2 p.m. at 
The Dalles Eagles Lodge. 
     Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 
c/o PO Box 1069, The Dalles, OR 97058. Arrangements are by Columbia Cremation 
& Burial.
