Wakley iwakley@msn.com April 16, 2006, 11:57 am The Dalles Chronicle, October 21, 2005 Margaret Angeline Hajicek, 86, a resident of The Dalles, died at a local care facility on Oct. 18, 2005. She was born on Feb. 13, 1919 in Park River, N.D., the oldest of eight children to Andrew and Hattie (Gustafson) Hanson-Johnson. She married Joseph Morstad in Walsh County, N.D., on April 3, 1937. He preceded her in death in November 1944. She married Stanley Hajicek on Sept. 15, 1947 in East Grand Forks, Minn. He preceded her in death on November 1996. She enjoyed traveling especially to Reno, Nev., crocheting and being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Eagles. She is survived by her four daughters, Donna and her husband Les Hippe, Olympia, Wash.; Marvel and her husband Robert Tetrault, Meza, Ariz.; Darlene and her husband Ed Monette, The Dalles; and Joyce Rose, The Dalles; her three sons, Dennis and his wife Peggy Morstad, North Bend, Wash.; Michael Hajicek and Jo, The Dalles; and John Hajicek, The Dalles; her 15 grandchildren, Craig Tetrault, Michelle Kopp, Sheilla Walker, Tim Tetrault, Laura Tetrault, Scott Morstad, Michael Morgan, Chris Morgan, Brian Morgan, Dirk Rose, Kelly Hynning, Kevin Hippe, Angie Hajicek, Nick Hajicek, Tylee Hajicek; 22 great grandchildren, her sister, Helen Earls of The Dalles and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her two sisters, Marion Lick and La Verne McBain; her four brothers, Dewey Johnson, Art Johnson, Harlen Johnson, Gordon Johnson and two grandchildren. At her request, no funeral services will be held. Private cremation was held at Win-Quatt Crematory in The Dalles and arrangements were made by Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home.
