The Dalles Weekly Reminder, September 25, 1987
Stanley Gretchfield, 93, died at a local nursing home Sept. 20.  He was a 
resident of The Dalles since 1981, formerly of Colville, Wash.

Mr. Gretchfield was born Oct. 7, 1893, in Saskatchewan.  He was a member of 
the First Congregational Church in Colville.  He worked as a finish carpenter 
prior to his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his wife Marie, who he married in 1916.

He is survived by one son, Victor Gretchfield, of Silver Lake, Wash; two 
daughters, Caroling Shellman of The Dalles and Lois Eddy of Seattle; eight 
grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, three sisters.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today (Friday) in Mountain 
View Park Cemetery in Colville.  Spencer Libby and Powell Funeral Home was in 
charge of arrangements.
