The Dalles Chronicle, February 15, 2005
     Lillian May Greene, 76, a resident of The Dalles, died at the local 
hospital on Friday, Feb. 11, 2005.
     She was born March 30, 1928, in Heppner, the oldest of four children to 
Edward and Millie (Pearson) Canifield. She was raised in Hermiston and 
graduated from Hermiston High School. 
     She married William C. Greene in 1954 in Seattle. They moved to Pendleton 
and Pullman, Wash., and raised the family in Renton, Wash. She later moved to 
Goldendale and to The Dalles. 
     She enjoyed spending time with her family, crocheting, crafts and 
fishing. 
     She is survived by three children, Edward Smith, Murdock; James H. 
Greene, Kent, Wash.;, and Glenn Greene, Seatac, Wash.; numerous grandchildren 
and numerous great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; two brothers, 
Roswell Canifield, Finley, Wash.;, and Brian Fletcher, Goldendale; and her 
sister, Carol Garcia, Goldendale. 
     She was preceded in death by her husband in 1991 and her son, Mark Smith 
in 2000.
     Graveside services will be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Renton, Wash., 
100 Blane Ave. NE, 98057 at 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 18. Spencer, Libby and 
Powell Funeral Home is in care of arrangements.
