The Dalles Chronicle, August 25,  2006
     Jeanette Greene, 84, died in The Dalles on Aug. 18, 2006.

     She was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on April 27, 1922, the daughter of 
Mary Geneva (Snider) and Frank Delbert Knapp.

     While in her early 20s, she moved from Iowa to San Francisco. In the 
1960’s, she relocated to Port Townsend, Wash., only to return to the Bay Area. 

     In 2002, she moved to The Dalles to live with her son.

     She liked to read mystery novels, play bingo and go to dinner and outings 
with her friends. 

     Always active, she loved to swing dance when she was younger and 
regularly exercised on her bike machine. 

     Survivors include her son, Douglas McGuire, The Dalles; grandchildren 
Cody McGuire and Maren McGuire, both of Portland; and sisters Virginia of 
Chicago and Alice, Miami.

     An intimate gathering in honor of her life will be planned by her son at 
a later date. Gardner Funeral Home handled cremation arrangements.
