She was born May 30, 1919, in Joseph, the younger of two children to Frank and Marie Alice (Simmons) Kutch. She was raised and graduated high school in Joseph in the Class of 1937. She married Jerrold Blandford Graves on May 29, 1941, in Enterprise. They lived in Pendleton, Lake View, Pilot Rock, Tygh Valley and settled in Maupin in 1951 working in the grocery business. In the mid-1950’s, the couple started Graves Market and they continued to operate it until 1981 when their daughter, Debra, and her husband, Ted, assumed control of the business. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, American Legion Auxiliary and enjoyed her family, life, dancing, old time music, the outdoors, gardening, cooking and cookie making and school activities. She is survived by two daughters, Jeralee and her husband, Paul Treanor, Salem; Debra and her husband, Ted Kuhnhausen, Maupin; five grandchildren, Melissa Pease, Hermiston; Mike and his wife, Tanya Barrett, Moro; Brian and his wife, Kristi Barrett, Umatilla; Margaret and her husband, John Vike, Hillsboro and Jerry Kuhnhausen, Maupin and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerrold in 1991 and her sister, Rita. Viewing visitation will be held at Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home on Thursday, May 13, from 2 to 7 p.m. and on Friday, from 8 to 10 a.m. Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church on Friday, May 14, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Joseph Kelbel as celebrant. Interment will follow at The Dalles Three Mile Road Odd Fellows Cemetery, formerly Parklawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Southern Wasco Co. Ambulance, PO Box 125, Maupin, OR 97037 or to a charity of choice.
