The Dalles Weekly Reminder, March 8, 1984
     Wilbur Jennings Graves, 78, a resident of The Dalles for the past nine 
years, died at his home on Saturday.
  
     He was born March 31, 1905 in Eau Claire, Wis.

     He had worked as a heavy duty mechanic in the construction industry until 
his retirement.  He was a member of Operating Engineers Local 701 in Portland 
and No. 3 in San Francisco.

     Survivors include his wife, Florence, whom he married in Spirit Lake, 
Iowa on Aug. 1, 1927; a son, Wilbur A., Broken Bow, Okla.; two daughters, 
Doris M. Oster, Seaside, and Della M. Michalec, Fair Oaks, Calif.; seven 
grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

     Funeral services were Wednesday at Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home.  
Cremation will follow in Portland.
