Wakley iwakley@msn.com December 28, 2006, 7:30 pm The Dalles Chronicle, July 20, 2006 Elinor Beryle (Carr) Graber, born May 26, 1913, passed away July 13 at age 93. She was a resident of The Dalles since 2002. She was born to Albert and Florence Carr in Worcester, Mass., where she lived with her family until they moved to California in 1919. Upon completing her schooling, she entered the working world. She married Wm. Paul Graber in 1936 and became an honored wife, mother and homemaker. She helped guide the family through relocations to Vermont and Arkansas, finally arriving in the northwest in 1952. Oregon was her home since 1967. After her husband’s retirement in 1977, they traveled in a RV in all 48 states while maintaining a home in Hillsboro until his death in 1989. She kept an apartment in Hillsboro until 2000, when she moved to an independent living facility in Lincoln City. She moved to her daughter’s home in The Dalles, and finally to a health care home. She is survived by her son, David, and daughter, Katheleen, and will be greatly missed by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Arrangements were made with Donelson, Sewell & Mathews in Hillsboro. Remembrances may be to donor’s choice of charity.
