Wakley iwakley@msn.com April 19, 2006, 11:45 pm The Dalles Chronicle, February 8, 2006 Malcolm L. “Lloyd” Gosson, 74, a resident of Wasco, died at his home on Sunday, Feb. 5, 2006. He was born in The Dalles on Feb. 9, 1931, the youngest of three to Archie L. and Oral (McClain) Gosson. He grew up in the Klondike area, attended school in Wasco, and graduated from Wasco High School in 1950 in a class of two, with his future wife. The class motto was “the future is ours.” Lloyd married Gwendolyn Louise Nisbet in Wasco on Jan. 4, 1951. He worked for the Sherman County Road Department for 41 years, and was road master for nearly thirty years before retiring in 1993. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, gardening, traveling and spending time with his family. He is survived by his three children; daughter Gayle Haney, Milwaukie; two sons, Mark and his wife Shavonne, Wasco; and Greg Gosson, Wasco; special friend Eileen Moreau; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gwen in 1998, and his two sisters, Lavilla Grant and Lorraine Pratt. Viewing visitation will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 8, from 2 to 7 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Graveside service will be held at Sunrise Cemetery in Wasco, on Thursday, Feb. 9, at 11 a.m. with Asa Jenson officiating. Spencer, Libby and Powell in care of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sherman County Museum.
