The Dalles Chronicle, February 28, 2006
     Roy Herman Goss, 87, a resident of The Dalles, died at the local hospital 
on Sunday, Feb. 26, 2006.
     He was born in Saginaw, Ore., on Dec. 21, 1918, the fifth of nine 
children to Benjamin Effie Goss and Tranny Ladonia Goss (Ritter). He spent 
most of his life in Mt. Hood.
     He married Virginia Mae Green in Stevenson, in 1947. He was a member of 
Life in Christ Church, V.F.W., Tennessee Walking Horse Association and NRA. He 
enjoyed horses, hunting, fishing, gardening, his routine coffee group and 
loved sports, especially watching the Trail Blazers.
     He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Virginia, The Dalles; his three 
brothers, Noble Goss, Hood River; Del Goss, Vancouver, Wash., and Truman Goss, 
Hood River; his sister, Almeda Ogden, La Palma, Calif.; his two sons, Gordon 
Allen Goss and his wife Norma, Kalispell, Mont.; and Ronald Arthur Goss and 
his wife Tammy, The Dalles; grandchildren Kim, Roy, Jennifer, Becky, Buffy, 
Renae and Shannon; and 12 great-grandchildren.
     He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Odie, Doyle and 
Mardis and his sister Ruby Wray.
     Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 1, at 11 a.m. at Life 
in Christ Church, 3095 Cherry Heights Road, The Dalles, with Pastor J.W. 
Jepson officiating. Graveside will be at 3 p.m. at Idlewild Cemetery in Hood 
River.
