The Dalles Chronicle, July 26, 2005
    Vira Bell Adams Goodwin (Aunt Red), 88, died in the home of her niece, 
Roselani, her great nieces, Sharah and Malia, and her great nephew, Josiah on 
July 21, 2005. 
     She was born in Hyattville, Wyo., on Oct. 19, 1916.
     She is survived by her son, Ken Goodwin, Post Falls, Idaho; her two 
grandsons, Dion Goodwin, Post Falls; and Brian Goodwin, The Dalles; her five 
great grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Ruby Adams, Portland; her brother-in-
law, Joseph Stefansky, The Dalles.
     She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Goodwin; her father, 
William H. Adams; her mother, Lilly Vira Adams Powell and was the oldest of 
four siblings, Bill Adams, Chet Adams, Wanda Esson, and Ethel Stefansky.
     She retired, as a laundry supervisor at the Oregon State Hospital in The 
Dalles. She also worked for the Model Laundry, the Cherry Growers, and the 
Vancouver Ship Yards as a welder and electrical wirer. 
     The family wishes to thank Hospice of The Dalles, for their care and 
support, and also Spencer, Libby and Powell for their kindness and 
consideration for her family. 
     Cremation was held at The Dalles Win-quatt Crematory with Spencer, Libby 
and Powell Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
