The Dalles Chronicle, February 23, 2005
      Genevieve Evelyn “Genny” Gill, 73, a resident of The Dalles, died 
Sunday, Feb. 20, 2005 at a local care facility.
      She was born Nov. 14, 1931 in McAllen, Tex. to Kenneth D. and Evelyn 
(Hendricks) Gill and grew up in Texas. 
      Shortly after her graduation from high school she married Roy A. 
Workinger in 1949 in Sandy.; they were later divorced. 
      She came to The Dalles in 1958 and worked in nursing care in several 
care facilities, including Columbia Park State Hospital & Training Center. 
      She enjoyed arts and crafts, reading, and was an avid crossword puzzle 
worker. She made many friends and enjoyed visiting with all of them over the 
years. She attended church at The Dalles Christian Center.
      Survivors include her children; son Dwight Workinger of West Allis, 
Wisc. and daughters Tillie Workinger and Allison Workinger of The Dalles; 
brothers Thomas Gill of Walla Walla and Don Gill of Palo Sedro, Calif.; sister 
Carolyn Brooks of Adkins, Tex. and numerous nieces and nephews.
      Services in celebration of her life will be held at the First Christian 
Church on Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2005 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Mike Wilson 
presiding. 
      Arrangements are by Columbia Cremation & Burial.
