The Dalles Weekly Reminder, January 29, 1982
     Norris E. Gilkison, 82, a resident of The Dalles since 1958, a former 
resident of Grass Valley, died Jan. 18 at his home.
     He was born Aug. 18, 1899 in Union.  He was a grain farmer in the Grass 
Valley area, and a member of Eureka Masonic Lodge No. 121 in Moro.  He was 
also a World War I veteran.
     Survivors include his wife, Sylvia, The Dalles; four sisters, Bessie 
Smith and Margaret Jones, North Powder; Elvira Horton, Rogersville, Tenn., and 
Edna Fisher, Burley, Idaho, and several nieces and nephews.
     Funeral services were in the mausoleum chapel at The Dalles IOOF Cemetery 
on Jan. 21 with the Rev. Egerton Long officiating.  Lewis Gregory conducted 
Masonic rites.
     Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
     Memorials may be made to the Oregon Heart Association.
