     Alice June Gilden, 77, a resident of The Dalles, died Thursday, July 21, 
2005 at a local convalescent facility. 
     She was born May 20, 1928 in Waitsburg, Wash., to Spencer and Belle 
(Fleck) Webster. She grew up and graduated high school in Walla Walla, Wash., 
and lived in several other communities before settling in Condon in 1961. She 
came to The Dalles in 1997. 
     She was an accomplished artist and sold a number of her paintings. A 
talented musician, she enjoyed playing the piano. Among her other interests 
were flower gardening, reading, and traveling both at home and abroad. She was 
a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Condon and had been a member of 
the Non-Commissioned Officers Wives Club in Ashya, Japan and at Travis AFB in 
California.
     Survivors include her children and their families; sons Jean Leonard 
Vincent, Wash.; and Timothy Sean Gilden, Ariz.; daughters Patricia Jane and 
her husband Roger Temple of Lizella, Ga.; Alice “Penni” Vincent of Silverton,; 
Linda Jill Vincent Mackie, Jacksonville, Fla.; and Virginia Lou and her 
husband Brian Edington, West Palm, Fla,; her sister Carol and husband Duane 
Higer, Pocatello, Idaho. 
     She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Leroy “Bud” 
Webster. She leaves 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
     Graveside funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 23 at 
St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Condon. Memorial contributions may be made to 
the Columbia Basin Health Care Foundation, 1015 Webber Street, The Dalles, OR 
97058. Arrangements are by Columbia Cremation & Burial.
