The Dalles Weekly Reminder, December 13, 1984
     Doris Evelyn Gifford, 80, died Dec. 3 at a nursing home in Tillamook.  
She was a former resident of The Dalles.

     She was born Jan. 13, 1904 in Portland.

     She lived in The Dalles from 1955 to 1980 and then moved to Rockaway.  
She was active in the 4-H program while living in The Dalles.

     Survivors include a son, Stephen Stanger, Rockaway; 10 grandchildren and 
many great-grandchildren.  Her husband, Homer, died in 1971.

     Funeral services were Friday at Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home.  
Burial followed at The Dalles IOOF Cemetery.

     Memorials may be made to the Wasco County 4-H Foundation or the VFW 
Ladies' Cancer Fund.
