Esther E. Gholston, 76, a resident of Mosier, died at the hospital in Hood 
River on July 28, 1995.

She was born June 11, 1919 in Tuxedo, N.Y. to John Otis and Laura May (Eckert) 
Sherman.  

She grew up and attended school in Hariman, N.Y.  She was employed for many 
years with the postal department in Hariman as a postal clerk.

She met and married Lyle Gholston in Hood River on Jan. 1, 1995.

She had attended the Hood River Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed 
embroidering and knitting.

Survivors include her husband, Lyle, Mosier; a daughter, Della, Westbrook, 
Maine; a cousin, Lewis Eckert, Knoxville, Tenn. and one grand-daughter.

Funeral services will be on Tuesday, Aug. 1, at 2 p.m. at the Hood River 
Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Quincy Angier officiating.

Interment will be held at Mosier Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to a charity of the 
donors choice and should be made through Anderson Funeral Home, 1401 Belmont 
Road, Hood River, OR., 97031.
