The Dalles Chronicle, March 1, 2005
    Lucille Elizabeth Gayer, 91, a former resident of The Dalles, died on Feb. 
24, 2005.
     She was born March 11, 1913 in Baraboo, Wis. 
     In 1936 her family moved to Portland where she met Gene Gayer. They were 
married in 1939.
     They moved to The Dalles in 1955 and owned Gayer Jewelers. He died in 
1983.
     Survivors include her children, Margo, Lee, Lin and Scott, 11 
grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
     Family members gathered for a graveside burial service in her honor.
     Memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church or Maryhill Museum.
