The Dalles Weekly Reminder, February 19, 1988
Lorna Mae (Brock) Gatchell, 78, a lifetime resident of Wasco County, died 
Wed., Feb. 10 at a local hospital.

She was born in The Dalles on Sept. 30, 1909, to Roy C.A. and Anna Mae (Nance) 
Moyer.

She was a member of the Eagles Lodge Auxiliary, Degree of Honor and the Old 
Wasco County Pioneer Association.

Survivors include her husband, Melvin, The Dalles, whom she married in 
Stevenson, Wash., on Oct. 29, 1951; three daughters, E. Mae Haynes, The 
Dalles; Murlene M. Thomsen, Burns, and Helen R. Blagg, Pendleton; a son, 
Orville F. Brock, Pilot Rock; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 
a sister, Doris Thorton, Lakeside, Ariz., her parents and two sisters, Mabel 
Groce and Ora Remington, died earlier.

Funeral services were Monday, Feb. 15, at Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home 
with the Rev. Thornton Gapen officiating.  Burial was in The Dalles IOOF 
Cemetery.

Casketbearers were Robert, Earl and Eldon Wagenblast, Lewis Groce, Harry 
DuPuis and Gary Grant.  Memorials may be made to the Arthritic Association.
