The Dalles Weekly Reminder, May 3, 1984
     Mary Gardner, 69, died at the hospital here in The Dalles Wednesday.  She 
had lived here for the past 14 years.

     She was born Nov. 7, 1914 at Redmond.

     She was a member of the Senior Citizens Bowling League.

     Survivors include her husband, Francis Gardner, whom she married on Dec. 
24, 1931; two sons, Loren Gardner, Los Angeles, and Francis Gardner, Portland; 
two brothers, Harold Witcraft, Los Angeles, and John Witcraft, Sweet Home; 
three sisters, Clara Palmer, Bingen, Wash.; Gladys Hubbleston, Winston; and 
Helen Keehnen, The Dalles; six grandchildren and five grand-grandchildren.

     Funeral services will be at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery in Portland at 11 
a.m. on Saturday, with the Rev. Archie Mathias officiating.  Spencer, Libby & 
Powell Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

     Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
