She was born November 30, 1910 in Spokane (Washington), the third of five children to Leslie and Olivia (Atwood) Day. She grew up in The Dalles and attended school at Joseph G. Wilson, Whittier and The Dalles High School. She married William George Gale on June 2, 1937, in Vancouver, Washington; he died in February 1966. She worked for many years at Model Laundry and was a member of the Degree of Honor, enjoyed cards and crossword puzzles. She is survived by her stepchildren, Grif Gale, Texas; Denis Gale, The Dalles; Virginia Hunter, Arkansas; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and one stepson. At her prior request, no public services will be held. Private cremation was held at The Dalles Win-quatt Crematory with Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
