The Dalles Weekly Reminder, September 15, 1983
     Samuel E. Gaffney, 84, a resident of Klickitat, Wash. for the past six 
years, died Friday at his home.
     He was born Jan. 4, 1899 in Ridgeville, Manitoba, Canada.
     He was a member of the Lyle United Methodist Church.
    Survivors include his wife, Bertha, Klickitat; three sons, William, 
Honolulu, Samuel, Seattle, and Timothy, Portland; two daughtesr, Patricia 
Smart, Torrance, Calif., and Bonnie Morris, Fairfax, Va; 12 grandchildren, 
nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Faith Hall, Canyon Lake, Calif.
     Graveside services were yesterday (Wednesday) at The Dalles IOOF Cemetery 
and memorial services were at the Lyle Community Church.
     Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
     Memorials are suggested to charities.
