Bobbie Bertram Johnson Surnames: Johnson, Strain, Roth, Fraser, Ellis Bobbie Bertram Johnson, 77, a former resident of The Dalles, died on February 6, 2003, in Phoenix (Arizona). He was born January 23, 1926, in Carroll, Iowa. He was raised in Glidden, Iowa, graduating from Glidden/Ralston High (School), class of 1944. He volunteered in the Navy during World War II. He married Mary M. Strain in 1947 after returning from the war. His many careers as postal clerk, carpenter and building inspector led him to retirement in 1982. He lived many years in Glidden and also lived in Phoenix, Arizona, Salem (Oregon) and The Dalles in Oregon. Survivors include children Jim and Celeste Roth, William and Tami, Joseph and Joan, John and Mardell Johnson; grandchildren Jamie and Sarah Roth, Jodi Roth, Keith Fraser, Kerri and Troy Ellis, Joel, Jacque, Hannah, Emily and Kevin Johnson and great-grandchildren Troy Jr., Courtney and Devon Ellis, Emma and Hayden Roth. A service will be held on Friday, February 15, at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 721 Chemeketa NE in Salem.
