He was born in Seattle [Washington] on August 22, 1906 and when he was 10 the family moved to Pasco, Washington, where he grew up and finished school. He became a postal employee there and later was transferred to Oakland, California, where he worked for a while. During World War II, he enlisted in The army and was stationed most of that time in Alaska. After the war he moved His family to Vancouver, Washington where he continued as a postal worker until He retired at the age of 55. Mr. Jensen then build [sic] a home in Oceanside [Oregon] and did contract Carpentry work there for a number of years. After his first wife died he Married Carmel Woodcock Stitt of Portland on November 3, 1966 and a few years Later they moved to Wamic where he built their present home. He was a member of the Barlow Gate Grange, The Tywana Saddle club, the Wamic American Legion and the Cherry Blossom Good Sam Club. Survivors include his wife, Carmel; two sons, Earl, Seattle, and Earl [sic]*, Burbank, California; a sister, Leloa Wanke, in Oregon; and seven grand- children and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at the Barlow Gate Grange Hall at noon on Monday Under the direction of Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home with the Reverend Dan Elam officiating. Burial will be in Wamic’s Lone Pine Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Grange and the Wamic Community Church in care Of Spencer, Libby & Powell. Casket bearers are D.A. Harvey, Glenn Gates, John Ulmer, Charles Liming, Frank Faught and Duane Thompson. * January 18, 1994 obituary of his wife Carmel Margaret Jensen gives name as Robert Jensen.
