He was born May 2, 1929 in Mound City, Kansas. He moved to Goldendale in 1933 and grew up there and attended school there. He served in the Army from 1946 to 1948 and returned to Goldendale after the service. He moved to Rufus about 20 years ago. He was a mechanic and previous had worked in law enforcement. Survivors include daughters, Susan Anderson, Jolene Mobley and Linda Jackson and sons, Ken, Bill and Steven Jackson; two brothers, Merle and Dan Jackson; and six grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, November 12, at 1:30 p.m. at Willamette National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
